DR. DILLIP SRICHANDANA, Born On 17th April 1959 And Brought Up In Village Gayabandha. From The Very Day Of Childhood Proved Himself As An Ardent Activist In Socio-Cultural And Political Arena. He Educated Himself In Literature And Achieved Ph. D Degree In 1986. He Earned Popularity As Lecturer From 1984 And Principal From 1988 Of Kaipadar College For His Loving And Through Teaching Practices. Being A Self Made Activist He Proved Him As An Organizer Of Socio-Cultural Development And Biodiversity Conservation. His Contributions In The Sectors Of Environment Protection, Youth Development, Social Defense, Wild Life Protection, And Cultural Heritage Protection In The State With Focus On Coastal Odisha During Last Three Decades Has Enriched The Social Development Movement Of The State. Even His Active Political Life From 1998 Has Never Affected His Activism Rather Facilitated His Movements. During This Period Dr. Srichandan Has Given A New Shape To The Social Movement Sector Through Promotion Of New Programmes, Festivals, Establishment Of Organizations, Institution Of Many Awards, Publication Of Books, Short Animation Films, Audio Cds Etc. His Innovations In Socio-Cultural And Political Sector Have Recognized Him As An Ardent Activist.

His Beginning

Ascent From A Warrior Clan, Who Fought The First War Of Indian Independence And The Present Farmer’s Family, Known To The Nation As The Existing Largest Single-Living Joint Family Of 140 Members, Dr. Dillip Srichandan, From His Childhood Spends More Time In The Crop Field And The Forest Adjoining To It Than With The Family Members. Fascinated With The Green, As Taught In The School Of The Importance Of Green In Everyday Life On Earth And Of The Balanced Eco-System For Sustenance Of The Earth; He Vows It To Take A Mission In Life To Promote Green And Save Life. As A Child Of Playful Age, Escaped From The Play Yard, He Often Seen Immersed In Planting Trees At Village Roadsides & Crop Fields At Some Time And Taking Their Care At Some Other.

By His Undergraduate Age, He Already Formed A Number Of Village Youth Clubs In Every Neighborhood Village, Especially Intended To Plant Trees And Preserve Green And Planted Thousands Of Trees Across Villages & Public Institutions Of His Own And Neighboring Panchayats. His First Massive Plantation Was His Total Plantation Move Over 100 Acres Of His Own Parental Land. Evident To This Move, Thousands Youth Across The State Joined With Him In His Wider Movement, While He Takes The Job Responsibility Of A Programme Officer Of University Run National Service Schemes. He Became Popular Among The Youths Of The State As The Tree-Sir. His Invitation His Wish To Get More Time For His Mission Was Bestowed To Him When He Quit The University Job As People Wanted Him As Their Leader And Elected As The Member Of Legislative Assembly For Their Home Constituency. During His Tenure As An Mla, He Took All Advantages To Foster His Peoples’ Mission To Promote Green. Besides Looking Into Other Plights Of The People As Their Leader, He Focused On Massive Plantation Inviting People From Every Walk And Corner. His Associations.

During His Tenure As Peoples’ Leader And Even Loses To The Next Election, He Had Ample Of Engagements For Plantation, Conservation Of Green, Advocacy For Favorable State Policies Emphasizing Environmentally Balanced Economic Growth And Promotion Of Eco-Friendly Sustainable Rural Development. His Vision Was Largely Applauded By Individuals And Organizations Across The State And National Boundaries. Thousands Of Individuals And Hundreds Of Organizations Worldwide, Volunteered To Extend Their Solidarity And Support.

In Thousands Of Forums He Emphasized The Importance Of Living With Harmony With Background Ecosystems. The Whole Media Followed Him For Two Decades, Given His Style Of Struggles For The Cause And Also The Importance Of The Issues. He Works With The Aim Of Making Environmental Studies And Integrated, Interdisciplinary Stream, Which Helps In Making The Earth Clean And Green.
